Walk for Peace: A 3,700 km Journey of Buddhist Monks and Aloka the Peace Dog

Added May 13, 2026

Description

Walk for Peace is a real and ongoing journey of Buddhist monks walking more than 2,300 miles across the United States, from Texas to Washington, D.C., carrying a message of peace, compassion, forgiveness, and loving-kindness. This journey is not a protest, not a political movement, and not an attempt to convert anyone into Buddhism. It is a peaceful reminder that true peace begins within the human heart. Accompanied by Aloka, a rescued dog known as the Peace Dog, the monks walk mindfully through towns and cities, meeting people of all faiths and backgrounds. Along the way, thousands of people offer flowers, food, water, and kindness, while families bring their children, including those with special needs, to witness this rare expression of living compassion. Buddhism does not grow through fear, force, or promises of heaven. The Buddha never forced belief and never threatened hell. Heaven and hell are understood as results of one’s own actions, while the Buddha simply pointed to a path toward liberation from suffering, known as Nibbana or Nirvana. Despite challenges, injuries, and misunderstandings, the monks continue walking, eating only twice a day and living in simplicity, demonstrating that peace is not an abstract idea but a daily practice. This video shares the story, meaning, and human impact of Walk for Peace, a journey that crosses borders, religions, and differences, reminding us that peace does not divide, peace connects. #walkforpeace, #BuddhistMonks, #PeaceJourney, #Compassion, #LovingKindness, #Mindfulness, #InnerPeace, #PeaceNotProtest, #NoReligiousConversion, #InterfaithHarmony, #HumanityFirst, #Nibbana, #Nirvana, #BuddhismExplained, #PeaceDog, #Aloka, #SpiritualJourney, #WorldPeace, #MindfulLiving, #PeaceBeginsWithin
