The Sacred Moments of Vesak 2026 | Walk for Peace Tonight, as tens of thousands of flickering candles burn together, shining brightly before the sacred Buddha Relics, we seem to see the image of all humanity praying together in silence. May wars subside. May the weeping ease. May mankind know how to stop their anger before causing each other further suffering. And may every heart know how to return to the light within themselves. Because the greatest light does not lie in those candles out there, but in the light of wisdom and loving kindness within the human mind. Once that light is kindled, humans will no longer look at each other with hatred, will no longer live only for greed and selfishness, and will no longer sow further suffering for one another and for this planet. Tonight, twenty four thousand candles are burning. But in truth, those are millions of wholesome aspirations being lit simultaneously across the whole world. May all beings be safe and well.
