Even though I know it’s scary, you have the law on your side. ☝🏻There are many laws to protect the victim :- The accused can be held liable under different sections of the IT (Information Technology) Act and IPC (Indian Penal Code). 🔹Under IPC- 👉🏻Section 503 - CRIMINAL INTIMIDATION ( If they're threatening you ) 👉🏻Section 383 - EXTORTION ( If they're threatening you to share nudes that you’ve sent them unless you send them money ) 👉🏻Section 354(c) - This Section states that if any man captures or shares the image of women in private space would be punished. 🔹Under IT ACT - Section 67B– This Section provides for punishment for publishing or transmitting material depicting children in the sexually explicit act, etc., in electronic form. 👉🏻Section 67A– The Section provides for punishment for publishing or transmitting material containing the sexually explicit act, etc. in electronic form ONE SHOULD FILE A COMPLAINT IF THEY'RE FACING SUCH THINGS ☝🏻Where they can file? 🔹Cyber cells- They are specially established to help the victims of cybercrime. 🔹If there is no cyber cell in the area where you live, you can file an FIR at a local police station. If you are facing any issue in getting your FIR filed, you can approach the police commissioner as it is a compulsion for the police station to register an F.I.R. 🔹The National Commission for women- This organization’s role is to help the victims of online harassment to deal with the police.
