Kawasaki's history dates back to the 19th century when it was initially founded as a shipbuilding company by Shozo Kawasaki in 1878. It later expanded into Aircraft Manufacturing. During World War II, Kawasaki was a major player in aircraft manufacturing for the Japanese military. They produced a variety of aircraft, including fighter planes and bombers. Kawasaki's entry into the motorcycle industry was through the development of a motorcycle engine in 1953. Their first complete motorcycle, the Meihatsu Dream, was launched in 1954. Kawasaki's first motorcycle export happened in 1960 when they shipped their motorcycles to the United States. It marked the beginning of Kawasaki's global expansion in the motorcycle market."
