A laptop got delivered today and there was a major problem with it. This 2017 Dell precision 5520 workstation won't turn on and there's no charge light and no lights of any kind. I opened it up and took some measurements and found that the laptop is receiving 19.5v from the charger and the battery input voltage is correct. I pulled the board out to find out what's wrong with it. After looking at the motherboard under the microscope, I did not see any shorted components, so no need for voltage ejection this time. But it was missing the 5v and 3.3v power rails and I did see some signs of liquid damage on the board. I cleaned up the area and grabbed a donor board to get those chips replaced.
